Background

Eric and Karyn Sorenson
Micronesia
In 2006, Eric and Karyn came to Guam on sabbatical. They thought it would be an exciting adventure to teach at a college with a distinctly different culture and do some scuba diving to boot. NEVER could they have dreamed that this would lead to raising their own support and moving their family half-way around the world. Eric and Karyn have been married since 1985 and have added four more to the world since then. Eric has a B.A. from Simpson University, an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, a ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a doctorate (DMin) from Fuller Theological Seminary. Eric is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church. Karyn has a B.A. from Simpson University, an M.A. from Azusa Pacific University, and is a CA licensed marriage and family therapist. After living and working on Guam for four years, the Sorensons moved to Santa Barbara where Eric works as the pastor for Christian formation at Community Covenant Church. Karyn continues working full-time with Micronesians using the marvels of technology and travel. Leadership development, counseling, and teaching are her passions. Eric also continues to invest in Micronesia as his schedule allows.
