About Us

Eric and Karyn Sorenson
Mangilao, Guam
In 2006, Eric and Karyn came to Guam on sabbatical. They thought it would be an exciting adventure to teach at a college with a distinctly different culture and do some scuba diving to boot. NEVER could they have dreamed that this would lead to raising their own support, moving their family half-way around the world, and devoting their lives to working with Micronesians. Eric and Karyn have been married since 1985 and have added four more to the world since then. Eric has a B.A. from Simpson University, an MDiv from Fuller Theological Seminary, a ThM from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a doctorate (DMin) from Fuller Theological Seminary. Eric is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church. Karyn has a B.A. from Simpson University and an M.A. from Azusa Pacific University. She is a CA licensed marriage and family therapist. Eric and Karyn currently work at Pacific Islands University (formerly Pacific Islands Bible College) in Guam where Eric also serves as dean of Pacific Islands Evangelical Seminary. Eric teaches theology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Karyn teaches social science classes and provides counseling for staff and students.
